There is minimal research into other media texts. Unfortunately Tom has not supplied textual examples of the videos he analysed so it is difficult to assess the accuracy of this work. Tom and his group seemed to find communiation difficult, although I appreciate Tom initially tried to keep the momentum going. Therefore, there is evidence of basic organisation and storyboarding. Time management was ok - poor, especiaslly towards the creation of the two ancillary texts. There is just about enough evidence of proficient creative ability in the technical skill areas to award this video a level 3 grade. The opening shot is steady and well framed, however there is a huge issue with editing throughout the video. The syncing of audio is completly out. The shots use a variety of distances but they don't seem to fit in with the timing of the music. There are some good transitions between shots and evidence that the group made good use of the technology available to them. The narrative is clear and meaning is apparent to the viewer.Tom initially took the lead in planning the final video piece but often failed to turn up to shooting the video and missed many lessons. His subsidiary texts were a little rushed and there is not much evidence that they have researched similar products in the planning stage. The DVD cover is well balanced and appropriate to task, however the magazine ad is reminiscent of the country and western genre due to the chosen font and image similar to a 'wanted' poster. Tom has received slightly lower marks than other members of his group to reflect his contribution to the main and subsidiary tasks.
